Microsoft Partner Event

Had a good time yesterday at the Dynamics Collaborative BI Partner Networking Event at Microsoft.

A lot of it was about how BI is being positioned in the Dynamics arena and how Microsoft will be taking it forward.

There was also a demo of how Reporting Services 2005 works and the Report Builder and a demo of the Business Scorecard Manager. These were good demos but as we are already doing live implementations of these there were no surprises for me.

One thing that was referred to was the security of reports delivered using SSRS. Unfortunately it was a single passing comment by, I think, Jonathan Hughes. I have been wondering how this was going to be implemented so that report users have the same read access in the reports as they have in the application. I will have to do some more digging.
