Persisting custom measures in PerformancePoint

Davis Francis has been working away at trying to deal with PerformancePoint CTP1’s habit of overwriting the Analysis Services database when a model is deployed thereby wiping any custom measures.

Apparently this wont happen in CTP2 which will merge the PerformancePoint changes with any custom work that exists in Analysis Server.

He also details how to use custom MDX in PerformancePoint. Hopefully this will also get easier in CTP2 as it does seem a bit convoluted as it stands.

Looks like CTP2 will be a huge step up and from the news groups:

We don’t have a specific timeline set, however we should be releasing in the
near future.
